PATIENT 30 - Otoplasty
This 23 yo woman was unhappy with her prominent ears and wore her hair long to conceal them. Examination showed absence of the upper two-thirds of the left antihelical fold and superior crus, and absence of the upper half of the right antihelical fold and superior crus; conchal prominence was also present. Six week post-operative photographs showing results of bilateral otoplasty with placement of three conchal-mastoid sutures and five Mustarde sutures on each side. Note reduction in the prominence of the conchal bowl and creation of the upper antihelical fold and superior crus.
