Patient - 61 Abdominoplasty
This woman was 68 years old, 5' 11" tall, and weighed 200 pounds prior to surgery. She disliked the appearance of her wrinkling and sagging abdominal skin, and wanted a flatter stomach. Examination demonstrated some excess fat and skin laxity of the abdomen and flanks, with a rectus diastasis of 3cm and an umbilical hernia. An extended abdominoplasty with umbilical hernia repair and transposition was performed; plication of the rectus muscle diastasis was performed above and below the umbilicus. Adjunctive liposuction of the upper abdomen, flanks and upper hips was performed; 250cc of fat was aspirated from the upper abdomen, and 200cc of fat was aspirated from each flank and hip. Post-operative photographs show her results more than four months after surgery.
